As I reflect on the recent events that transpired in Boston, my heart shatters into pieces. Lives were lost, families were forever broken, and our nation is now in mourning. As we press on and pick up the pieces, I try not forget who we are as a people. We are compassionate human beings, brothers and sisters, that love and cherish one another. The actions done by brave men and women in Boston show the true strength of our humanity. Their ability to help those in need in just mere seconds showed true bravery and courage. The world is what we make of it, and we chose compassion and love. As a country, we have fought for life, freedom, and justice, in order to ensure a peaceful and civilized society. That is who we are. The ideals instilled by our founding fathers stay true till this day. A land of freedom and opportunity, in which everyone has a chance to fulfill their greatest potential. No one can take that away. Boston, and all its people will come out of this event resilient. Resilience is in the DNA of all Bostonians. Even although challenges lie ahead, and uncertainty still ensues, the bond of Americans have never been stronger. Let us be reminded of our blessings and never forget the innocent that were lost. Much prayer and love, David Saul Acosta
